Primary Purpose Assist the speech-language pathologist (SLP) in providing speech and language therapy services to students with speech, voice, language or other communication disorders under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist supervisor. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in communicative sciences and disorders from an accredited college or university Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant License granted by the Texas Department of Licenses and Regulations (TDLR)
Special Knowledge/Skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of speech-language disorders and therapy techniques for remediation of communication disorders Ability to provide instruction and to manage student behavior Openness to change and innovation to meet the needs of all students
Experience Minimum one year providing services in a public-school setting preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide designated speech-language pathology scope of practice services under the TDLR Rulesand the supervision of an approved licensed speech-language pathologist supervisor.
- Provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students only in the areas in which trainingand skill level proficiency have been determined by the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement classroom activities under the approval andsupervision of a licensed SLP.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, TDLR Rules and district policies.
- Comply with all federal, state, district and campus policies regarding confidentiality.
- Abide by the TDLR Rules and Code of Ethics.
- Maintain a copy of performance and supervised therapy records per TDLR rules.

- Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain and submit appropriate documentation for SHARS billing per district procedures.
