Primary Purpose
Facilitate and coordinate activities related to the admission, renewal, and dismissal (ARD) process. Organize and implement instructional and behavioral services to meet the needs of eligible students. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas special education certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills
Effective and positive communication and interpersonal skills
Strong team-building skills
Knowledge of special education rules and regulations
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Superior organizational skills
Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision
Ability to adjust to change in a positive manner
Knowledge of PEIMS coding
Working knowledge of Statewide Assessment
Proficient use of various software systems
Experience
Minimum of 3 years special education teaching experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate and facilitate ARD meetings on campus.
- Coordinate campus personnel staffing for students.
- Coordinate with campus testing coordinator regarding who receive special education services.
- Maintain digital special education eligibility folders.
- Provide training on special education software, IEP development, PLAAFP, standard based goals and objectives, statewide assessment, instruction and behavior strategies.
- Disseminate information from district meetings, and communicate district expectations and goals.
- Monitor the distribution of IEP documents to staff
- Collaborate with campus master scheduler to ensure students’ needs are met per ARD committee decisions.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local special education requirements.
- Assist in processing referrals to special education from student success team.
- Coordinate staffing with appropriate direct and support service providers along with campus and district special education personnel.
- Coordinate staffing with LSSP, Instructional Specialists and district Coordinator (or designee) for any student being considered for a recommendation to an ARD committee for a District Class placement.
- Coordinate with Director of Special Education Support Services for Independent Educational Evaluation requests.
- Coordinate with Instructional Specialists to share instruction and behavior strategies with campus staff.
- Coordinate with District Special Education personnel and team lead for change of level ARDs with sending/receiving campus.
- Coordinate with district coordinator to process parent requests for educational records.
- Collaborate to provide required information within timelines regarding state performance plan indicators.
