Primary Purpose

Facilitate the efficient operation of the school administrative office and provide clerical services for the school’s administrative staff. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

 

Qualifications 

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Educational Aide I certification
  • 48 college hours or passing score on Paraprofessional Exam

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Efficient computer skills
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions

Experience

  • Some verifiable clerical and public relations experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises.
  2. Reinforce appropriate behavior and assist in classroom discipline and behavior management.
  3. Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
  4. Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, inside classroom, in the lunchroom, and outside the classroom during arrival and dismissal.
  5. Provide clerical support to the teachers, counselors, and principal.
  6. Type reports, letters, forms; copy and distribute office communications.
  7. Sort and distribute mail.
  8. Assist secretary with other office duties.
  9. Attend and implement district training and requirements.
  10. Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
  11. Exhibit CCISD Core Values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
  12. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
  13. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.
  14. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  15. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  16. Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications.
  17. Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.
  18. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  19. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  20. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  21. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  22. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  23. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  24. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
