Primary Purpose

Assist the district behavior specialist in implementing, monitoring, and collecting data on written general education behavior plans.  Provide direct support for students in the classroom. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

 

Qualifications 

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Educational Aide II certification
  • 48 college hours or passing score on Paraprofessional Exam

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 8 hours training in physical restraint and crises intervention
  • Objective data communication
  • Knowledge and experience in handling challenging situations

Experience

  • Verifiable experience working with children
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

               

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Communicate with behavior specialist about behavior support plan.
  2. Attend weekly behavior trainings
  3. Collect data on intervention plan.
  4. Model interventions for classroom teacher.
  5. Model and practice social skills lessons with student.
  6. Practice self-regulation techniques with student.
  7. Monitor students in a variety of school settings to provide a safe environment for all students.
  8. Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
  9. Exhibit CCISD Core Values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
  10. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
  11. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.
  12. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  13. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  14. Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications.
  15. Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.
  16. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  17. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  18. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  19. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  20. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  21. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  22. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
