Primary Purpose
Support the mission of Career and Technical Education by procuring necessary resources to meet the goals and objectives of the program. Support the financial operations of the Career and Technical Education department as requested in line with skills of the incumbent.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
High School diploma
Associate degree (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills
Strong numerical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Advanced level computer skills in creating and maintaining spreadsheet and database files
Ability to work with and ensure accurate accounting of multiple budgets simultaneously
Strong organizational and file maintenance skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ general office experience, preferably in a public education environment
Experience in government related purchasing environment preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist teachers in their selections of equipment and materials needed to operate Career and Technical Education programs.
- Research and publicize new supply sources for the needs of Career and Technical Education teachers.
- Purchase all goods, supplies, services, and equipment for the teachers and administrative staff.
- Work with purchasing department to recommend types of vendors needed for the Career and Technical Education programs.
- Obtain quotations in accordance with federal and district guidelines.
- Expedite delayed outstanding purchase orders by working with vendors to research order status, analyze situation, and recommend district action to facilitate the continued process of the purchase agreement.
- Maintain expenditures of Career and Technical Education budgets.
- Assist teachers in understanding their allocated budgets and how to request purchase orders.
- Identify and track all equipment purchased with federal funds.
- Assist the Career and Technical Education department in the continuous improvement and/or development of effective procurement procedures and inventory maintenance.
- Maintain and facilitate effective working relationships with vendors, district employees and teachers.
- Assist with special departmental events, including but not limited to teacher professional development training, CCISD livestock show, college and career fair etc.

- Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.

- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
