Facilitate the efficient operation of the employee benefits office, interface with all benefit providers, and administer benefits for all eligible CCISD employees. Support the Business Services office by supporting Benefits Specialists in all aspects of their position. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide leadership to the Benefits Specialist with office processes and practices related to the administration of CCISD employee benefits.
- Provider leadership and guidance to Benefits Specialists as they process/expedite benefit change requests, new enrollments, and terminations of coverage.
- Research benefit plans and train other department members on benefits, thus increasing department knowledge to provide information on benefits to CCISD staff.
- Create and update new hire benefits training presentations.
- Coordinate Open Enrollment communication in-person meetings and assist with creating the Benefits Guide.
- Coordinate the annual Benefits Committee Meeting with campus representatives, including training materials.
- Serve as contact for district employees regarding Cafeteria Plan regulations, COBRA, HIPAA, and worker’s compensation.
- Respond to employee inquiries on various aspects of the District’s medical, dental, vision, and other supplemental plans.
- Track employee benefit elections.
- Calculate deduction amounts and enter them into employees’ payroll records.
- Maintain and update the eligibility database, including effective, change, and termination dates and life and disability insurance amounts.
- Notify the COBRA vendor of employees needing initial COBRA notice and employees requiring COBRA qualifying event letters.
- Produce Certificates of Coverage as needed.
- Process and correct eligibility error reports and other audit reports that reveal discrepancies.
- Work with insurance companies to troubleshoot and resolve issues and complaints by employees.
- Reconcile list bills as needed.
- Present benefit information at new hire orientation meetings.
- Stay up-to-date professionally by selecting quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
- Be knowledgeable about the attributes of the District’s benefits programs and policies and regulations pertaining to those programs.
- Participate as an effective team member, contributing to District, department, and content goals.
