Primary Purpose
Facilitate and coordinate activities related to the admission, renewal, and dismissal (ARD) process.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas special education certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills
Effective and positive communication and interpersonal skills
Strong team-building skills
Knowledge of special education rules and regulations
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Superior organizational skills
Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision
Ability to adjust to change in a positive manner
Experience
Minimum of 3 years special education teaching experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties

Coordinate campus personnel staffing for students.

Coordinate ARD meetings on campus.

Coordinate with campus testing coordinator regarding special education student needs.

Maintain special education student folders.

Adhere to federal, state, and local special education requirements.

Process referrals to special education from student success team.

Share with the administrator the role of ARD facilitator and note taker at ARD meetings.

Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.

Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.

Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.

Demonstrate integrity and ethics.

Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
