Primary Purpose
The district Robotics Program Manager will serve as an instructional leader and coordinate/supervise the elementary, intermediate and high school robotics programs for CCISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certification in Math, Science, Technology Education or Technology Applications
Special Knowledge/Skills
Effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of robotics curriculum and competitions
Skills in technology applications Ability to manage a budget
Ability to coordinate district functions
Ability to interpret policy procedures and data
Strong organizational skills
Experience
Minimum of 3 - 5 years successful secondary teaching experience
Experience working with grants
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee robotics curriculum development for all intermediate and high schools.
- Provide procurement recommendations for supplies, materials, and equipment to support robotics courses and robotics competition teams.
- Provide teacher training and professional learning for all district robotics teachers and team sponsors.
- Supervise district robotics summer camps.
- Attend community events and conduct demonstrations to promote Robotics and CCISD.
- Conduct meetings with district, campus and parent groups.
- Collaborate with NASA to obtain mentors for all elementary, intermediate, and high school teams.
- Plan and provide leadership for campus Robotics sponsors.
- Schedule all district robotics competition – registration, transportation, etc.
- Coordinate calendars with sponsors for practices and competitions.
- Coordinate safety training for all robotics teams.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials needed for robotics competitions.
- Cover sessions when sponsors cannot attend.
- Work with sponsors and campuses to develop plans for participation in other areas of competition, ex. website, animations, video, programming, and engineering design.
- Schedule and hold robot demonstrations at campuses.
- Visit elementary, intermediate and high school campuses to recruit and support sponsors.
- Provide leadership with campuses in integrating the robotics program with PLTW.
- Develop recruiting materials for all levels such as flyers, brochures, presentations and videos.
- Identify viable grant sources by networking with other professionals and searching through grant literature.
- Work with district grant writer to write and edit grant proposals or components of grant proposals.
- Manage and utilize policy effectively for maintaining systemic processes and practices.
- Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
