Description | Primary Purpose
- Perform all phases of commercial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and new construction code compliance in order to maintain a condition of operating excellence.

Qualifications
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance
- Proof of completion of electrical apprenticeship training classes or course
- Master Electrician license from Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise personnel
- Proficiency with regards to the requirements of the NFPA 70, 70E and 110
- Proficiency in reading MEP blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and new construction specifications
Experience
- Minimum five years as a licensed Journeyman Electrician
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Assume primary responsibility for the safe condition of lighting fixtures, devices, wiring, and all associated electrical equipment owned or operated by the district.
- Inspect all new construction for compliance with electrical codes and written district construction electrical specifications.
- Recommend when electrical assistance should be obtained.
- Report any safety hazards in a building.
- Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
- Examine buildings on a scheduled basis for purposes of preventive maintenance and safety.
- Be available to respond to emergencies at night, on weekends and holidays on very little notice.
- Perform preventive maintenance as needed and requested.
- Evaluate personnel under the position’s supervision.
- Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
- Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
- Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
- Display proficient levels of technology applications.
- Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
- Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
- Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
- Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
Equipment Used
- Including but not limited to all types of electrical tools and diagnostic instruments. Use of large A-frame step ladders and extension ladders up to 30’. Hydraulic lift trailers, boom and scissor lifts, bucket trucks up to heights of 85’. Trenching and backhoe equipment.
