Description

Primary Purpose

Maintain and support the district’s software applications, including student and business information systems, and assist in the efficient operation of the Information Management Systems.

 

Qualifications

Education/Certification

High School Diploma required, college degree preferred

A+ certification or equivalent required

N + certification, MTA (Microsoft Technology Associate) or equivalent IT certification preferred

Must pass CCISD drug and alcohol abuse standards

Must pass criminal history and MVR driving record checks

 

Special Knowledge and Skills

Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal and telephone etiquette skills

Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records

Ability to create technical documentation and procedures

Extensive knowledge and experience utilizing Office application and reporting tools

Ability to generate reports and analyze data

Ability to meet established deadlines

 

Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting enterprise applications and providing customer support

Minimum 1 years’ experience providing training

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Act as a liaison between the campus and administrative personnel regarding information systems operations, schedules, problems, procedures, requirements, and overall support.
  2. Communicate/document problems impacting the accuracy/validity of data or application performance issues with student information systems, business systems, and custom applications to appropriate IT staff.
  3. Receive requests from customers for service or problems resolution; prioritize requests and routes to appropriate staff for action; contact customers to keep them informed of the status of their requests.
  4. Generate reports, receive, and review data, verifying for completeness and accuracy, consulting with other departments or staff as necessary, and initiating corrections when required.
  5. Support and maintain the district’s software applications including student information systems, business systems, and custom applications..
  6. Develop materials and conduct training sessions for the effective utilization of the student, business, and custom software applications.
  7. Develop, write, and maintain batch programs that support assigned applications.
  8. Cross-train with other computer services personnel for the orderly management of department functions.
  9. Develop and maintain overall knowledge of TEA Data Standards and PEIMS requirements
  10. Assist in the completion of all federal, state, and local reporting requests including, but not limited to, Office of Civil Rights, Texas Education Agency.
  11. Escalate issues/problems that cannot be resolved to Director of Information Management Systems.
  12. Complete a written record of every service call.
  13. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  14. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  15. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  16. Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
  17. Display proficient levels knowledge in technology applications.
  18. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  19. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  20. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  21. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  22. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  23. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  24. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as required.
