- To assist in maintaining, tracking all special education data for accountability/compliance measures, and coordinating efforts related to School Health and Related Services (SHARS).
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Strong technology/computer skills
- Effective communication, interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills and knowledge of office procedures
- Knowledge of or ability to learn special education record keeping regulations as required by state and federal government
- Reading and interpreting skills

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years secretarial and bookkeeping experience, preferably in public education environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Create and generate reports, exports, and audits using computer and software/web-based programs.
- Manage the Admin Application in special education software program.
- Assist in resolving Help Desk and PEIMS issues related to special education software program.
- Serve as a liaison to the district’s vendor in the implementation of SHARS billing and verification.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments, outside agencies, and medical professionals to complete reports and data required.
- Manage records for district-wide CPI training.
- Perform bookkeeping and purchasing tasks for the department and assist in budget management.
- Make travel arrangements for department staff.
- Maintain filing and tracking systems for the department financial and travel records.
- Ensure confidentiality in dealing with student records and other departmental business.
- Enter, receive, verify and approve payment on purchase orders for district special education equipment and materials.
- Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
- Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
- Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
- Display proficient levels of technology applications.
- Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
- Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
