Primary Purpose

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Direct and monitor the work of custodians at assigned campus.
  2. Plan, oversee, and participate in all custodial work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  3. Monitor the time cards of all custodial employees.
  4. Maintain an inventory and order custodial supplies from the operations department.
  5. Strive constantly to promote the safety and security of the building.
  6. Be responsible for the general fire safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees.
  7. Perform emergency repairs.
  8. Perform minor repairs and cleaning services as necessary.
  9. Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas, neat and clean at all times.
  10. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
  11. Be responsible for daily cleaning of classrooms, lunchrooms, office, gyms, etc., including the dusting of furniture.
  12. Ensure that all corridors are cleaned during the day when needed and after school.
  13. Ensure that all restroom floors are scrubbed and disinfected and that all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains are cleaned and disinfected daily.
  14. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
  15. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  16. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  17. Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
  18. Display proficient levels of technology applications.
  19. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  20. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  21. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  22. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  23. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  24. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  25. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
