Primary Purpose

  • Help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility
  •  requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in painting trade
  • Knowledge of and ability to mix paint to match colors
  • Ability to properly apply paints
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Competent math skills to calculate paint purchases
  • Ability to work independently

Experience

  • Requirement determined by supervisor

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Perform general interior and exterior painting and refinishing.
  2. Responsible for the safe use and storage of painting materials and supplies.
  3. Recognize and inform supervisor of any painting needs on any district facility.
  4. Be availabe for after hour demands.
  5. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
  6. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  7. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  8. Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
  9. Display proficient levels of technology applications.
  10. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  11. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  12. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  13. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  14. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  16. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Equipment Used

  • Including but not limited to brush, roller, striping machine, taping and masking equipment, spray equipment, sand and water blaster, air compressor, dry wall tools and equipment, hand and power tools, ladder, scaffolding
