Experience
- Experience in custodial work or the willingness to learn
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Keep the inside hallways dry mopped several times daily.
- Check restrooms periodically during the day and clean as needed.
- Help clean cafeteria after all lunch periods are over.
- Keep paper towel and toilet tissue dispensers filled during the day.
- Report immediately to Lead Custodian any plumbing problems that will not open with hand plunger (stopped up commodes, urinals, sinks, etc.).
- Report to the Lead Custodian any needed building repairs (leaks, broken windows, broken locks, etc.).
- Clean custodial equipment after use.
- Keep walls, window glass, door, light fixtures, window ledges, etc., cleaned.
- Work in any area of the building assigned; occasionally work with a crew to accomplish certain tasks during student holidays and student vacations or when other workers are absent.
- Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
- Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
- Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
- Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
- Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
- Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities assigned by the Lead Custodian or principal.
