Primary Purpose
Coordinate and implement the special education referral and evaluation process.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Master’s degree in educational assessment
Valid Texas teaching and educational diagnostician certificates preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development, and learning theories
Experience
Minimum of 3 years experience providing diagnostic services in an educational setting
Major Responsibilities and Duties

Conduct assessment of intelligence and educational functioning of students.

Collect and analyze the data pertaining to sociological variables for students.

Provide consultation to teachers, parents, other support personnel, and community agencies for individual education plan development and strategies of learning.

Attend ARD meetings and make presentations as needed.

Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.

Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.

Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.

Demonstrate integrity and ethics.

Display proficient levels of technology applications.

Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.

Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
