Primary Purpose
- Manage the district’s school transportation software suite in an efficient and cost effective manner. Manage the day to day transportation routing needs of CCISD including stop locations, time spent on a bus, route changes, and communications with all parties of interest. Assist routes supervisors with routing issues as needed. Effectively facilitate and manage the flow of information pertaining to pupil data.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement TEA School Bus Drivers Certification
- Must pass DPS Physical Examination Annually
- Must pass CCISD Drug and Alcohol Abuse Standards
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Effective mapping and routing capability
- Skilled in the use of routing software and mapping programs
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Computer literacy and detail orientation
Experience
- Minimum of three years successful general office experience
- Two years’ experience with routing software and mapping systems
Major Responsibilities and Duties
1. Develop and implement mapping, routing, bus finder and state reporting with
computerized routing software.
2. Provide routing processes improvement recommendations to Management Team
- Assist route supervisors with specific changes to help increase productivity
- Recommend specific changes to help increase productivity and efficiency; Create, edit, correct and delete routes
- Participate in company required training, or as assigned by Manager
- Oversee, update and monitor student tracking of bus software related to parent ability to see bus tracking systems
3. Transfer geographical data, prepare maps, programs and related graphical media.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date school plot maps for efficient pupil placement.
5. Develop optimization strategies using GPS programs designed to ensure CCISD is
serviced in a highly effective and efficient manner.
6. Accurate data collection for required TEA reports.
7. Assist Route Supervisors in maintaining accurate State "Student Role Call" records.
8. Accurate completion of reports in a timely fashion so that reimbursement funds from
State are forthcoming to CCISD
9. Perform as a relief bus driver when needed/necessary
10. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development
opportunities for personal growth.
11. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
12. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and
content goals.
13. Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
14. Display proficient levels of technology applications.
15. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
