Primary Purpose

  • Assist electrician in keeping all electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in safe working condition.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Eligible for apprentice license for Houston, Texas and/or SBCCI license
  • Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance 

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective communicational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and understand verbal instructions in English
  • Basic knowledge in commercial electrical/conduit and 3 phase experience

  • Requirement determined by supervisor

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Assist electrician in keeping all electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in safe working condition.
  2. Follow all safety rules relating to trade.
  3. Attend all safety meetings.
  4. Be available for after hour demands.
  5. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
  6. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  7. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  8. Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
  9. Display proficient levels of technology applications.
  10. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  11. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  12. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  13. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  14. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  16. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

  • Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing
  • Lifting up to 80 pounds; inside and outside exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, and materials
  • Working on ladders; working in and around energized environment
