Description

Primary Purpose

  • Organize, schedule, and oversee work orders on a daily basis in order to maintain kitchen equipment in a condition of operating excellence.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/License

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Drivers License and MVR driving record check – must meet requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance if required for job performance.

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills   
  • Ability to read wiring and diagrams
  • Ability to use tools and equipment relating to kitchen equipment repair

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years successful experience in kitchen equipment repair

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Assume primary responsibility for the safe and functional condition of all kitchen equipment, including installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
  2. Practice all safety regulations of the trade.
  3. Report all safety hazards.
  4. Work well independently.
  5. Perform preventive maintenance as needed and requested.
  6. Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
  7. Respond to emergencies at night and on weekends.
  8. Evaluate personnel under his or her supervision.
  9. Operate school district vehicle safely for up to 100 miles daily.
  10. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
  11. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  12. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  13. Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
  14. Display proficient levels of technology applications.
  15. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  16. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  17. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  18. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  19. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  20. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  21. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Equipment Used

  • Including but not limited to hand tools, small power tools, volt, ohm, amp meters, and all other tools related to kitchen and laundry equipment

  • Ability to maintain concentration and safety habits while working with power tools and around electricity and gas
  • bility to maintain emotional control at all times 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

  • Walking, standing 8 hours a day
  • Lifting up to 80 pounds
  • Inside and outside exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, and material
  • Working in and around energized environment
