Primary Purpose
- Performs duties as assigned, which could include vehicle washing, cleaning, fueling, facility maintenance and light vehicle repair.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Evaluate mechanical problems and perform minor repairs as assigned by the Lead Mechanic or Shop Foreman.

Assist lead mechanic in performing major repairs.
-
Comply with shop rules and safety measures.

Help keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operation condition.

Furnish personal basic hand tools.
-
Take initiative to improve skills as a mechanic.
-
Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.

Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.

Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.

Demonstrate integrity and ethics.

Display proficient levels of technology applications.

Have all vehicle repairs inspected and approved by the assigned supervisor or lead mechanic before the vehicle is released for service

Record time spent, parts used, and repairs on the appropriate forms provided as each activity is completed.

Immediately brings unsafe practice or conditions to the attention of the Shop Foreman.

Other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman.
