Description | Primary Purpose
- To help prepare school district mail and to pick up and deliver mail and various supplies and equipment to and from all district schools, U.S. Postal Office, and district auxiliary locations daily.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Must be able to pass criminal history and MVR driving record check as required by CCISD
- High School Diploma or GED required
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Excellent physical condition
- Ability to speak and read the English language
- Ability to handle all sizes of vehicles used for delivery
- Ability to work well without constant supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Neat appearance
- Ability to be polite and courteous to people in the course of duties
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Sort mail, apply postage, pick up and deliver mail and supplies to and from Education Support Center, district schools and auxiliary sites.
- Responsible for receiving and unloading supplies.
- Make courier route deliveries of mail and supplies to the designated schools and auxiliary sites in the district once each day, or as directed.
- Assist with warehouse shredding.
- Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness in Production Center and Warehouse.
- Assist the Production Center with photocopying and shredding.
- Follow district procedures and guidelines on safety, including wearing lift-support belt while on duty.
- Assist with inventory and cycle counts.
- Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
- Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
- Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
- Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
- Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
Equipment Used:
- School district delivery vehicles, two-wheel dolly, mail/print shop equipment, forklift, pallet jack, ladder and electric lift

Mental Demands
- Must use good judgment and be constantly alert in operation of District vehicles and equipment. Must read and write well.
- Must be able to understand written and verbal instruction, function effectively without constant supervision.
- Must be flexible in adapting to changes in delivery volume and routes and exhibit emotional control in dealing with numerous employees, the public and demanding time schedules.
Physical Demand/Environmental Factors
- Must be in excellent physical condition
- Have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and lift films and boxes daily
- Heavy work both indoors and outdoors
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials.
