Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED

- Some verifiable clerical and public relations experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Work at front desk assisting students, teachers, and parents as needed, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Answer telephone, screen and direct calls; answer questions; take and route messages.
- Receive visitors; give assistance and answer questions relating to the office or the school.
- Organize and maintain front reception area to promote a safe and secure school environment.
- Maintain daily visitor sign-in notebook, using safety system checks of verifying identification of visitors.
- Provide clerical support to the teachers, counselors, and principal.
- Establish and maintain files and other information for reference and control purposes; provide needed information from the files.
- Type reports, letters, forms; copy and distribute office communications.
- Register and withdraw students as needed.
- Sort and distribute mail.
- Set up files on students; send and request school records.
- Maintain emergency lunch fund for students.
- Assist secretary with other office duties.
- Attend and implement district training and requirements.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
- Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
- Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
- Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
- Display proficient levels of technology applications.
- Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
- Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
- Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
- Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
