Primary Purpose
Provide initial contact with public concerning questions, problems, or general information and direct individuals to the proper authority for further handling. Maintain accurate student attendance records and report Average Daily Attendance. Assist Administrators by providing accurate information for students who are assigned to the alternative education program (AEP) for disciplinary reasons.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
- High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer, typing, and spreadsheet skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Experience
- Clerical experience, preferably in a public education environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Exercise good telephone etiquette, take reliable messages, and route calls to appropriate staff
- Check students in and out
- Keep accurate attendance records and maintain accurate excuse notes in all student folders
- Assist with registration and withdrawal of students.
- Assist in preparation of routine records.
- Perform office routines and practices associated with a productive office (e.g. correspondence, answering telephone, scheduling, mail distribution, etc.)
- Be accountable for accuracy of all required new student orientation and campus forms.
- Be responsible for PEIMS data accuracy and verifying attendance reports every six weeks.
- Assist principal, students, teachers, and parents as needed.
- Assist Administrators by providing updated data base information daily.
- Implement individualized provision of positive and negative reinforcement for student behaviors.
- Deal professionally with highly confidential student and staff information.

- Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
