Primary Purpose

 

To provide clerical support to the Deaf Education counselor, Team Leader, Diagnostician and provide support to GBCDHH classroom teachers. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Deaf Education preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work with children with disabilities
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Experience

  • Verifiable experience working with children and general office experience

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Establish and maintain files related to special education students.
  2. Provide clerical support to the Deaf Education team leaders, including typing, copying, and distributing all communications/ARD paperwork.
  3. Collect and organize all special education transportation data from ARD paperwork and distribute to GBCDHH member districts throughout the year.
  4. Assist with team leaders calendar; schedule appointments, ARDs, staffing, and parent meetings.
  5. Maintain GBCDHH records per CCISD records retention procedure.
  6. Maintain student information files and assist team leaders with required information.
  7. Assist audiology with delivery of equipment or minor tasks.
  8. Participate in planned in-services and professional growth activities.

  20. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  21. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  22. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
