Perform repairs and/or new installations in order to maintain a condition of operating excellence in the district’s facilities.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Assume primary responsibility for the safe condition of lighting fixtures, wiring, and electrical equipment owned or operated by the district.
  2. Inspect all repair or new jobs for compliance with electrical codes.
  3. Recommend when electrical assistance should be obtained.
  4. Report any safety hazards in a building.
  5. Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
  6. Examine building on a regular basis for purposes of preventive maintenance and safety.
  7. Be available to respond to emergencies at night and on weekends.
  8. Perform preventive maintenance as needed and requested.
  9. Evaluate personnel under the position’s supervision.
  10. Participate in scheduled after hour emergency program.
  11. Participate in district’s Standard Reunification Protocol as directed by the district’s Incident Commander or designee.

  21. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  22. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  23. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  24. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; use of hydraulic lift trailers, boom and scissor lifts, bucket trucks up to heights of 85’; lifting up to 80 pounds; inside and outside exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; climbing and working on ladders; working in and around energized environment
