Primary Purpose
Perform repairs and/or new installations in order to maintain a condition of operating excellence in the district’s facilities.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
- High school diploma or GED
- Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance
- Journeyman license from Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise personnel
- Knowledge of cities within the district and national electric codes
- Proficient in use of electrical multi-meters, meggers, circuit tracers

Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Assume primary responsibility for the safe condition of lighting fixtures, wiring, and electrical equipment owned or operated by the district.
- Inspect all repair or new jobs for compliance with electrical codes.
- Recommend when electrical assistance should be obtained.
- Report any safety hazards in a building.
- Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
- Examine building on a regular basis for purposes of preventive maintenance and safety.
- Be available to respond to emergencies at night and on weekends.
- Perform preventive maintenance as needed and requested.
- Evaluate personnel under the position’s supervision.
- Participate in scheduled after hour emergency program.
- Participate in district’s Standard Reunification Protocol as directed by the district’s Incident Commander or designee.

- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; use of hydraulic lift trailers, boom and scissor lifts, bucket trucks up to heights of 85’; lifting up to 80 pounds; inside and outside exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; climbing and working on ladders; working in and around energized environment
