Primary Purpose
Monitor, repair and test water treatment systems to include hydronic heating and cooling, UV lighting and pool chemical water treatment systems.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
- High School diploma or GED
- Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check – must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance
- Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification (CPO) Preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of water treatment best practices and procedures
Experience
- Two years’ experience working on recreational water or HVAC water treatment systems
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Travel to campuses daily to maintain swimming pools, pool equipment and water treatment systems.
- Calibrate and adjust water treatment control devices to regulate chemical flow into pools, cooling towers and chillers.
- Maintain proper chemical balance and temperature of pool water in accordance with school district standards and recreational water quality best practices.
- Perform and retain records of pool water testing including pH levels, free and total chlorine, water and space temperatures, and pool area relative humidity.
- Identify and repair malfunctioning components of water treatment systems.
- Inspect and assist in maintaining pool dehumidification systems.
- Respond to after hour emergency situations regarding pool equipment malfunctions and chemical imbalances.

Equipment Used
Including but not limited to hand tools, small power tools, electrical multi-meters, ladders, lifts, pool vacuums and chemical testing equipment.

Ability to maintain focus and concentration while working around hazardous chemicals. Ability to work flexible schedule; maintain emotional control at all times.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Strenuous walking, standing and/or climbing; lifting up to 80 pounds; exposure to inside and outside temperature extremes, dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery and/or uneven walking surfaces; working around high voltage and moving parts.
