Primary Purpose 

Facilitate the efficient operation of the school administrative office and provide clerical services for the school’s administrative staff. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

 

Qualifications 

Education/Certification/Licensure

High School diploma or GED

 

Special Knowledge/Skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Proficient computer, typing, and word processing skills

Strong organizational and file management skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality

 

Experience

Minimum of 3 years secretarial experience, preferably in a public education environment

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Perform usual office routines and practices associated with a productive office (e.g., correspondence, telephone, scheduling, mail distribution, etc.)
  2. Exercise good telephone etiquette, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  3. Assist principal, students, teachers, and parents as needed.
  4. Establish and maintain files and provide information from files, such as student records, teacher records, and extracurricular activities.
  5. Handle enrollment and withdrawal forms.
  6. Coordinate grade level extra activities such as prom, senior musical, powder puff, and banquet.
  7. Interact with truant officer regarding student attendance.
  8. Maintain a daily teacher attendance log and records for substitute teachers, including report for payroll.
  9. Perform purchasing duties, maintain school budget, accounts payable for activity funds.
  10. Maintain proper files to include inventory of school supplies, mailing lists, student records, visitor logs, and office communications.
  11. Receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment.
  12. Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents.
  13. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for principal.
  14. Assist with registration and withdrawal of students.
  15. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.

  27. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  28. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  29. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
