Primary Purpose
Direct and manage the district’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and general maintenance operations; maintain physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use may be made at all times; provide students with a physical learning environment that is safe, clean, attractive, and functional. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or extended supervisory experience preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of basic principles of construction, school plant maintenance, and building automation, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems Ability to supervise maintenance and contract services
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to coordinate district functions
Working knowledge of applicable software applications
Bilingual skills preferred
Experience
Minimum of 5 years supervisor experience in maintenance operations
Five years’ experience in maintaining a large plant or building
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage maintenance and repair, security, and general maintenance operations of district facilities.
- Receive and process work orders for repair and maintenance of architectural, building automation, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems within all district buildings.
- Oversee, schedule, and document scheduled maintenance of district chiller plants, backflow preventers, and emergency generators.

- Maintain a database and manage repairs, scheduled maintenance, and regulatory inspection of domestic, heating, and pool boilers.
- Assist with the development and maintain written departmental procedures for maintenance, repair, operations, and security of all district buildings and equipment.
- Oversee and manage emergency response, cleanup, and repair of district facilities.
- Prepare plans and specifications for contracted repair work and site improvement for submission to purchasing department for bids.
- Implements the Long-Range Facility Master Plan with the Director of Maintenance &
- Develop yearly work schedules based upon the Long-Range Facility Master
- Implement federal and state law State Board of Education rules, and local board policy in maintenance area.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required in maintenance area.
- Ensure that programs are managed in a cost-effective manner and that funds are managed
- Assist with budgets and cost estimates based on documented program
- Assist with direct inventory and stock program for equipment and
- Initiates purchase orders and bids in accordance with budgetary limitations and district
- Replace and maintain a current inventory of supplies and parts to avoid delay when
- Maintain accurate maintenance vehicle inventory and replacement
- Approve and forward maintenance department invoices and purchase orders to accounting department as required.
- Recommend disposal of obsolete equipment and purchase replacement equipment when
- Assign work to maintenance personnel and oversee timely completion and documentation of work.
- Prepare, review and revise job descriptions in maintenance
- Work with Director to evaluate job performance of employees to ensure
- Work with Director to recruit, train, and supervise maintenance personnel and make sound recommendations about personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal.
- Maintain safety standard in compliance with federal, state, and insurance regulations and develop a program of preventive safety.
- Ensure that equipment is maintained in operating and optimum
- Participate in department after hours emergency response rotation.
- Participate in district Reunification Protocol as directed by the district’s Incident Commander or
