Primary Purpose
Plan, organize, implement, and maintain a campus system of assessment (i.e. STAAR, STAAR Alternate 2, TELPAS, field tests, college readiness exams, and local assessments) that aligns to the district system of assessment to ensure the complete alignment of the written, taught, and tested curriculum in order to drive instruction and continuously improve the academic progress of all students on the campus.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in education related field
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with students
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge of TEA rules, regulations, and district policies concerning the TEKS and state assessments
Knowledge of district policies and procedures concerning curriculum, instruction, and assessment
Skills in planning, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive assessment program at the high school campus
Skills in making oral and written presentations
Some working knowledge of computer databases
Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a classroom teacher and familiarity with STAAR and TELPAS tests preferred, but not required
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and maintain the administration of the local assessment program at the high school campus by:
- Attending all district training sessions for implementation of local assessments.
- Assisting the Executive Director of Assessment and Program Evaluation with the preparation of locally developed assessments.
- Coordinating with the Executive Director of Assessment and Program Evaluation regarding local assessments.
- Coordinating the receipt, distribution, administration, and return of all local assessment materials for the campus.
- Ensuring security and confidentiality of locally developed assessments when required.
- Providing training for all campus or district staff as required.
- Preparing analytical and summary student performance reports.
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and maintain the administration of state mandated assessments at the high school campus by:
- Attending all district training sessions for implementation of state assessments.
- Coordinating with the Executive Director of Assessment and Program Evaluation regarding state assessments.
- Coordinating the receipt, distribution, administration, and return of all state assessment materials for the campus.
- Ensuring security and confidentiality of state assessment materials.
- Providing training for all campus or district staff as required.
- Documenting all non-compliance issues and share with Campus Principal and Executive Director of Assessment and Program Evaluation.
- Preparing analytical and summary student performance reports.
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and maintain the administration of Advanced Placement assessments at the high school campus by:
- Assisting the campus head counselor with pre-planning for AP testing.
- Serving with other high school campus testing coordinators as part of the AP team to implement testing at a central location for all high schools and on the high school campus for special testing.
- Coordinating with the campus head counselor and Director of Student Personnel Services regarding AP testing.
- Attending all district training sessions for implementation of AP assessments.
- Ensuring security and confidentiality of AP materials.
- Manage and utilize data effectively for systemic process and program analysis.

- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
